HONGKONG (23TH~27TH OCTOBER 2008)

23 OCT 2008 ~ Avenue Star
HongKong here we come!!! It's 1pm. The turbojet stopped at Shuen Wan... hongkong island. We couldn't find any HongKong map here. But we had studied how to get to our guesthouse somewhere in Tsim Sha Shui. Just take the mrt.

Me in the turbojet with sour face. Feel very dizzy... like vomiting.

Hong Kong view from the turbojet.

The guesthouse is a walking distance from the mrt station. 2pm check-in Lee Garden guesthouse. Not as good as we expected. A room fit for a queen size bed. A small tv hanged on the wall, small mirror, and a drawer. Common bathroom and toilet. Use by everyone. However, I would say it's clean and safe and the location is good... near to the mrt, easy to find food and shopping. We were so tired. thought of taking a sort nap.. but turn out we doze off for a few hours. 4.30pm..... wow!! Damn sleepy.

Tsim Sha Tsui Street~ busy and congested.

I am so hungryyy!!!We did not take any food until we found the Tourist information centre near Tsim Sha Tsui ferry terminal. We needed a map to know where we were going for the next few days. (I am still hungry...... :( if only we had took the turbojet from macau to Tsim Sha Tsui Star ferry teminal, I'll be eating right now.)

Star Ferry Terminal. The tourist information centre is right here.

Sunset at the ferry terminal.

Finally dinnner. HongKong chicken rice. Hmmm.... so so. A bit too salty and fatty. I still prefer Malaysian chicken rice. The glass of chinese tea is not for drinking. :O It's for washing your chopstick!!!! (I drank it. ooo oooooo)

HongKong is well known for the Avenue Star~handprints of the famous ones.

HongKong night view from Avenue Star.

Chop chop popobear.

Aaahhh.... I can feel his hands.. :O

Every night at 8pm, there will be a show of spotlights from building across the island~ Symphony Light. It's an hour show.

After the show, we were still not tired. So we Walk to Temple Street Night Market.

Temple Street Night Market~ lots of seafood to eat.

Lots of things to shop.

24 OCT 2008 ~ Disneyland
9am~ We had breakfast.

At 10am, we took the Mrt to Sunny Bay and waited for the mickey train. The windows are designed to look like mickey. I felt like I am going to a fantasy land just by boarding the train.

Hubby in mickey train.

Finally reach to our destination. Wow!! A big clock!

Mickey welcome us.

Disneyland entrance.

Haloween in Disneyland. We came at the right time.

This cap looks to simple. Noooo... not this one.

yeah!!!! We found our perfect cap... Mickey and Minnie

Jumbo!! Can you take us fly to a place with lots of money??? :P

Waiting for the 3D movie.

Hmmm.... Very not energetic. The girls are not sexy enough.

Eeyore!!!!! Why you look so heartsick?

How come got 2 mickey?

Its a small small world.

This is what you see inside the small small world.

We had an advanterous day.... climbing the tarzan's house, sitting the "rakit" to cross the river, sitting the train to see the "so-called" jungle creatures........... too many things.... bla bla bla....

Finally, cotton candy.

By 7.30pm, people started to sit in front of Slepping Beauty Castle to wait for the fireworks. We set there for an hour. 8.30pm the fireworks began. The most beautiful and amazing fireworks I ve ever seen in my whole entire life. The disneyland songs added life to the fireworks. It lasted for half an hour.

25 OCT 2008 ~ Ocean Park
10am: Ride an hour bus to Ocean Park- the most famous theme park in HongKong. There were still construction going on in some of the area. I think it would be much bigger in future.

Waiting for the bus to Ocean Park. By looking at my face impression, "Laukong, I cant wait to go there". :P

Ocean Park entrance.

Welcome by Whisker.

Ocean Park is also celebrating Haloween.

It was suppose to be scary.

Dolphin University ~ Even dolphins need to study.

Study what? Study.... super stunts and tricks.

Me and Gloria. Can I take her back to Singapore?

I ve never seen a panda in real life.

I think her name is Jia Jia.

High at the top. The roller coaster is at the bottom.

Graduates of Dolphin University.

End of show.

Time to take the cable car down. We didnt spend so much time here as we did in Disneyland. We came here for the dolphin and seal show. And also visited the cute panda.

By 4pm, we had to rush down to The Peak & Sky Terrace.

Waiting for the train. There's only one train going up and down.

The train up to the peak look very classical like olden time. It goes up almost 45 degree steep. Hahaha... maybe not tat much but it's really steep. Just a few minutes and we reach to the peak.

The vibration is so strong and the train is so steep.

Have you watch House of Wax?Here' something similar- Madame Tussauds. If you hate any of the world famous people, here's where you can show it. Hahaha...

Kick his b***s.

E equals to Mc square. This theory cost him his hair.

Their shirt looks the same pattern, right?

Sky Terrace, it's Hong Kong's most beautiful night view besides the Avenue Star.

Looking down at such high altitude... it give me a shiver to my knees. hehe. Cant imagine if I fell down.

The wind blows.... feel so happy to share this moment with my hubby.

Believe it or not? My first cup of Haagendaz ice cream. Is the spelling correct?

Trade mark of Sky terrace

Down we go..... to Lan kwai Fong.

Lan kwai Fong, where the night comes to life... pubs and disco everywhere. So coincident, they were celebrating Haloween at Lan Kwai Fong. It was so happenning everywhere. Beers and Costumes...

We were not much of a party freak. We just took one stroll and headed for supper and back to the guesthouse.

26 OCT 2008 ~ Lantau Island
Our day starts with breakfast at 9am.

HongKong Egg tart

Zhu Chai Pao " Little Pig Bread". Not sure why the name is like that. But it is super crispy.

Today we are going to see the Giant buddha on Lantau Island.Havent buy any tickets. :0 No worries. It's still early. We alight at Tung Chung to get our tickets to Lantau Island by cable car.Wow, the quequ is long....

"Hi, Miss. I want 2 tickets of NgongPing 360 Cable Car including lunch". Hehehe....Our Cantonese not bad...

Waiting patiently for tickets

I think the journey was about 40 minutes. We could see the airport... then green mountains... then a whole long stretch of cable cars ahead of us... then a big buddha statue from afar.... then finally... the cable car slowed down and we jump out.. on flat ground of course.

Giant Buddha from afar. Wow, the giant buddha is so clear even though it's so far away. Mist covering the top....

Perfect view

Ngong Ping Village map

Reaching the entrance of Ngong Ping Village

Most attraction here are meant to introduce buddha and his way of enlightenment. An amazing story... how a king became a buddha. What I learn is "life should be balance". I think everyone learns something different.Hubby learn that life should be happy and content.

Wishes from visitors all over the world.

Waiting to walk with Buddha.

A small stall on the way to the Giant Buddha... the "tau fu fa" is yummy but the dimsum sucks.

Time to climb up the stairs to Giant Buddha. Climb and climb and climb.... I wonder how many steps are there. The air is much cooler here. Some visitors hesitate to climb any further. Probably tired. For me, I must reach the top no matter what.

High up reaching the sky.
Climb down the stairs to visit PoLin Monastery. 10 times easier than climbing up.It's pretty much the same as any temple. The only thing special was the entrance.Big and sculped with some sort of chinese art.

Posing at PoLin Monastery entrance.

My leg was getting tired. I had to take a sit. Hubby still looking so energetic. Walking in and out of the monastery. sweating all over like a little cute boy... so excited to discover something new

PoLin manastery. Too tired to walk in.
Lunch time.. :0 Delicious!!!

Lunch package included in our tickets. Not bad, right?

It's worth a try.

Hubby say, " After eat, must exercise har....'. :0

We walked the Wisdom Path... about half an hour. Keep on walking hoping to see something special ahead of us. I wanted to give up but lucky i didnt.

The end of the path was indeed not dissappointing.Tree logs stuck up right to the sky with words of encouragement craved on it.There's a trekking path too.

Everyone seems to stop at the bottom. That's where we would go even further up.

Trekking Path. Can you see me from afar?

Climbing higher and higher. Dangerous but we like the adventure.

It's getting late.walking back was as tired as walking there. The last cable car is 6pm. The quequ is super long. It took me an hour to reach the cable car. It was getting colder. But I have hubby to hug me warm.

Time for Giant Buddha to go to sleep. :P
Today is a special day for hubby too. It's Liverpool vs Manchester United. He wouldn't want to miss that match.. even he's now in HongKong. So we walk along Tsim Sha Shui... every street to look for a pub to watchfootball. We walk for half and hour up and down on every street... finally at one corner.. a pub to watch football. My very first time to have dinner with my hubby in a pub while watching football. His job is to watch football. Hahaha.... My job is to eat and drink....so that those waitress wont ask us to give our seat to others.
A relaxing night after a whole day of walking.

Perfect seat to watch football.

27 OCT 2008 ~ Last day in HongKong
My heart was having a mix feeling of relieve + sad.
Relieve becoz the trip is going to end and I can have a good rest back home... on my bed...with my blanket and pillow. And i miss my 2 baby tortoise too.
Sad coz this might be the last time for me...standing on HongKong ground. Looking across the island....sigh......

After our last breakfast in HongKong, we checked-out at 10am, leaving our backpack at the guesthouse lobby.Took the mrt to Wong Tai Sin Temple. I hear alot of this word "wong tai sin temple" in many chinese drama. Now I get the chance to see the real one.

The Great Immortal Wong Temple~ Wong Tai Sin Temple

Upon reaching there, we can see lots of "red" stuff, incense, paper money .... oh ya... a giant size mosquito coil. :P

Fervent fellow servants of Wong Tai sin burning and offering goods in exchange for?? luck? money? health? number? world peace? global warming??? hehe...

Wow... smoke every where. My eyes and nose are getting hot.

Walking further in.... there are rows of fortune teller. Hmmm,.... can they see their future too? To be frank, I think 99% of them are just bullshitting. Hahaha. maybe some of them are pervert.... just want to touch ladies hands.

After lunch, we shop at Lady's Market. Shop for soveniors and clothings. It's time for me to get my backpack and take my flight back to Singapore.

Wah! Still got time to check soccer.
5.00pm : Take Mrt to Hong Kong Airport. Our plane departs at 8.15pm. Reach Singapore at 12 midnight.
I'll be back on my feet for the next travel adventure. :)
